REGULAMENTO

O VI Salão de Humor de Limeira, idealizado e promovido pelo Jornal O PIU, abre as inscrições para todos os artistas do Brasil e do mundo, que desenham a mão livre, com inscrições abertas do dia 10 de maio a 10 de setembro de 2010.
Os participantes podem inscrever-se com quantos trabalhos quiserem, originais e inéditos, de sua própria autoria, no tamanho mínimo de papel A4 (21 x 29,7cm) e máximo de A3 (42 x 29,7cm). Estas medidas também valem para os digitais.
No verso de cada trabalho deve se identificar com a categoria do trabalho inscrito, nome completo, telefone, email. Para os digitais na legenda do arquivo.

INSCRIÇÃO

As inscrições são gratuitas.
Valerão as inscrições que estiverem em poder da comissão organizadora até 10 de setembro de 2010, valendo, para os inscritos pelo correio, a data de postagem. No caso dos trabalhos Digitais ou Interart, enviar para jornal_opiu@hotmail.com até mesma data.
A seleção das obras será feita por uma comissão julgadora indicada pelo Jornal O PIU.

REGULATION

The VI Hall of Humor in Limeira, designed and promoted by the newspaper O PIU, open registrations for all artists from Brasil and around the world, which draw a free hand, with entries open on 10 May to 10 September 2010. This year are also open registrations for DIGITAL or INTERART works, must be send to jornal_opiu@hotmail.com .

Participants can sign up with how many original works they like, those of his own making in the minimum size of A4 paper (21 x 29.7 cm) and up to A3 (42X 29.7 cm). These measures also apply to digital works.

The back of each work must be identified with the category of design registered, full name, phone, email, in case of digital internet in the caption of the file.

REGISTRATION

Entries are free.

Registrations will be considered valid since they are held by the organizing committee until 10 September 2010, valid for the registered by mail, the date of posting. The selection and award of works will be made by a selection committee given by the newspaper O PIU.

All thirty works will be exhibited at the Museu da Jóia – Parque Cidade, Rua José Botelho Veloso s/nº, Vila São João, Limeira, with opening of the exhibition and presentation of awards until September 24, 2010. They will stay out until October 10.

All submissions are considered to be acquisitions of O PIU. The possession, use and other rights in such work will belong to O PIU, which reserves the right to use them at its will.

The simple inscription of the participant fully and automatic means the agreement with this Regulation.

2010 FIFA World Cup

South Africa will become the first African country to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup, starting from 11 June to 11 July 2010. South Africa made its final presentation to host the World Cup to FIFA's Executive Committee at the Trade Centre in Zurich on 14 May 2004. On 15 May 2004, FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, announced that South Africa would be the host of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Thirty-two countries have qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Six of these are from Africa, namely: South Africa, Ghana, Cote d扞voire, Nigeria, Cameroon and Algeria. The rest of the qualified countries are Japan, the Netherlands, Korea Democratic People抯 Republic, Australia, Korea Republic, United States of America, Brazil, England, Paraguay, Spain, Denmark, Chile, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Serbia, Switzerland, Argentina, Honduras, Slovakia, France, Portugal, Slovenia, Greece, Uruguay and New Zealand.
The World Cup will take place in eight of South Africa's nine provinces, using 10 stadiums in nine host cities. Five of the 10 stadiums are new and the rest have been upgraded for the event. Johannesburg, as South Africa's economic hub, is the only city with two venues for the world cup, namely Soccer City and Ellis Park. Other host cities are Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Polokwane, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein and Rustenburg.

The competition is open to all amateur and professional cartoonists.
2. MODALITY AND FORMATS
Work must be carried out in black and white or in colour. The work minimum must be of 3500 x 2480 pixels, with a minimum resolution of 300 pixels an inch.
3. PRESENTATION
Contestants must send in an e-mail supplying their names, surnames, address, date of birth and a contact telephone number. This e-mail must contain an attachment with the graphics work file in JPG format.

"EUROPE-ASIA BRIDGE: ISTANBUL

Istanbul is the intersecting point of Europe and Asia, with a settlement history of three hundred thousand years, an urban history of three thousand years and a capital dating back to the 1600s. Istanbul has been a home to various civilizations and cultures thorughout history. Due to Istanbul's historical cosmopolitan and metropolitan structure it has attracted people with various religions, languages and races for centuries. It has now become one of the major touristic centers in the world.
Istanbul hosted the Roman and Byzantinian Empires until Fatih Sultan Mehmet captured Istanbul from the Byzatines in 1453, which marked the rise of the Ottoman period. Historical areas of Istanbul were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985 and Istanbul was chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2010.
The purpose of our competition is to study the European Capital of Culture: Istanbul from past to present through the art of caricature and project it to the world audience. The first cartoonist to be selected, will win a financial prize as well as a beautiful trip within Istanbul. The jury of this competition is formed by Turkish and Foreign citizens who are familiar with the city and its culture.


THE RULES OF COMPETITION:

1) You can only participate in this competition by submitting your work through the e-mail address provided below.

2) The participating work must have not previously received any awards or have been published in any competition. Otherwise, the jury committee has the right to withdraw the awards.
3) The designs are to be drawn in A3-Size to be delivered in 300 dpi and in JPEG format.
4) The incoming caricatures are first going to be eliminated by the pre-selector jury who will determine the 100 final caricatures. Final caricatures will be temporarily published on our "heute/bugün/today" section of our website (www.donquichotte.org). In this manner, we will be able to identify caricatures that are contradicting with the rules of this competition.
5) The closing date of the competition is August 15, 2010.
6) The jury, which consists from international well-known cartoonists, will evaluate the forwarded art-works from August 15th to 30th. Results of this evaluation and the award-winning art-works will be published on September 5, 2010.
7) The award ceremony will take place in İstanbul-Schneidertempel Art Gallery on September 15, 2010.
8) Participants of all ages can join in this competition with a maximum of 3 caricatures.

Regulamento / 2010

CAPÍTULO I – Do Salão

Artigo 1° - O XVII Salão Nacional de Humor de Ribeirão Preto, promovido pela Prefeitura Municipal de Ribeirão Preto através da Secretaria Municipal da Cultura, da Coordenadoria de Artes Visuais, do MARP - Museu de Arte de Ribeirão Preto Pedro Manuel-Gismondi e do MIS - Museu da Imagem e do Som de Ribeirão Preto, tem como objetivo estimular e divulgar as produções gráficas.

Artigo 2° - Serão aceitas inscrições de 04 de maio a 18 de junho de 2010, de artistas gráficos brasileiros nas categorias: charge, cartum e caricatura, a realizar-se de 20 de julho a 10 de agosto de 2010 no Ribeirão Shopping.

CAPÍTULO II – Da Comissão Organizadora

Artigo 3° - Será nomeada, com a devida antecedência, por meio de Portaria assinada pela Exma. Sra. Prefeita Municipal, uma comissão, cuja função será considerada de relevante interesse público, não será remunerada e terá como encargos:

a) Organizar o Salão, tomando para isso as providências que se tornarem necessárias;

b) Confeccionar o folder do evento;

Artigo 4° - A Comissão Organizadora será composta dos seguintes membros: Presidente, Coordenador, Organizador, Tesoureiro, Secretário e Conselho.
Parágrafo único - O Coordenador, Organizador, Tesoureiro e o Secretário deverão ser funcionários da Secretaria Municipal da Cultura da Prefeitura Municipal de Ribeirão Preto.

CAPÍTULO III – Da Inscrição

Artigo 5° - As inscrições para seleção, estarão abertas de 04 de maio a 18 de junho de 2010, das 09 às 12 horas e das 14 às 18 horas, de terça a sexta-feira, no MARP - Museu de Arte de Ribeirão Preto Pedro Manuel-Gismondi, Rua Barão do Amazonas, 323, Ribeirão Preto-SP, CEP 14010-120, informações (16) 3635 2421 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting (16) 3635 2421 end_of_the_skype_highlighting, marp@cultura.pmrp.com.br

Artigo 6° - Serão aceitos somente trabalhos inéditos.

§ 1º - Um mesmo artista poderá inscrever até, no máximo, 03 (três) trabalhos em cada categoria. Os trabalhos deverão ser enviados em um único envelope, com ficha de inscrição preenchida.

§ 2º - A assinatura da inscrição abrange plena aceitação do presente regulamento, sem reservas.

Artigo 7° - No ato da inscrição deverão ser apresentados:

a) Cópia do trabalho, impresso em formato A4 (21 x 29,7 cm), sem molduras, com as seguintes identificações, localizadas no verso, na horizontal inferior: autor, título, ano de produção e categoria;

b) Ficha de inscrição preenchida em letra de forma, contendo todos os dados sobre as obras e sobre o artista.

Parágrafo único - Não serão inscritas nem recebidas inscrições fora do prazo estipulado, bem como não serão aceitos recursos e pedidos de reconsideração a esse título. Só serão aceitas as inscrições postadas até dia 18 de junho de 2010, impreterivelmente.

CAPÍTULO IV – Dos Trabalhos

Artigo 8° - O impresso enviado para seleção não será devolvido.

Artigo 9° - Não serão aceitos no ato da inscrição:

a) Obras de acervo;

b) Fichas de inscrição sem assinatura do artista;

c) Obras de artistas falecidos.

Artigo 10° - Será excluída do salão qualquer obra que estiver em desacordo com as disposições do artigo 9°, alíneas a, b e c, mesmo que já constem no folder.

CAPÍTULO V – Das Obrigações dos Participantes

Artigo 11° - Entregar as obras dentro dos prazos estipulados pela Comissão Organizadora.

Artigo 12° - Ler o regulamento do Salão e assinar a ficha de inscrição, declarando-se ciente dos termos do regulamento. Não serão aceitas inscrições sem assinatura do artista.

Artigo 13° - Cumprir os prazos determinados.

CAPÍTULO VI – Da Seleção

Artigo 14° - A seleção e premiação dos trabalhos serão feitas no dia 25 de junho de 2010. Os artistas selecionados deverão enviar as imagens dos trabalhos selecionados para o e-mail marp@cultura.pmrp.com.br, com resolução de 300 (trezentos) DPIs de resolução, no formato jpeg, com aproximadamente 20 x 30 cm.

CAPÍTULO VII – Do Júri

Artigo 15° - O júri será composto de 03 (três) membros designados pela Comissão Organizadora.

Artigo 16° - O júri, após exame das obras, lavrará uma ata na qual constará os nomes dos artistas selecionados, premiados e qualquer informação necessária.

Artigo 17° - O júri é soberano, sendo suas decisões irrecorríveis e incontestáveis.

CAPÍTULO VIII – Dos Prêmios

Artigo 18° - Os prêmios serão distribuídos da seguinte forma:

a) Três Prêmios Aquisitivos (um para cada categoria) de R$ 2.000,00 (dois mil reais);

b) Três Prêmios Aquisitivos (um para cada categoria) de R$ 1.000,00 (hum mil reais);

c) Poderão ser conferidas Menções Honrosas;

d) Os prêmios aquisitivos passarão a integrar o Acervo Público Municipal, sob tutela do MIS - Museu da Imagem e do Som de Ribeirão Preto. Poderá o Poder Público fazer uso das imagens ou reprodução das mesmas, se julgar necessário, para fins institucionais ou não.

§ 1° - Haverá retenção de imposto de renda na fonte, sobre o valor pago nas premiações, de acordo com determinação legal vigente.

Artigo 19° - A entrega dos prêmios será no dia 20 de julho de 2010, quando se dará a abertura do Salão.

Artigo 20° - O júri poderá deixar de conferir um ou mais prêmios, se assim achar conveniente.

Artigo 21° - A premiação será feita, pelo júri, em votação secreta e informada aos artistas inscritos através de ofício enviado pela Comissão Organizadora.

CAPÍTULO IX – Da Exposição

Artigo 22° - Para a exposição, a Comissão Organizadora providenciará a impressão das obras selecionadas, em formato A3, que configurarão na mostra e não serão devolvidas. As obras poderão itinerar por outros espaços, em mostras organizadas pelo MIS - Museu da Imagem e do Som de Ribeirão Preto. Depois da itinerância, as impressões serão inutilizadas.

CAPÍTULO X – Disposições Gerais

Artigo 23° - Os casos omissos serão julgados pela Comissão Organizadora mediante pedido, por escrito, formulado pelo interessado.

Artigo 24° - A Comissão Organizadora poderá, através de ato devidamente justificado, alterar as datas anuais do evento.

It is an irony of life that often a lesser man, by well-planned orchestration, is installed on pedestals, while one really talented unfortunately gets a silent burial. Through passage of time, layers of dust gradually settle over what that brilliant man had achieved with dedication during his life-time and eventually the image of that man and his work, though deserving to be treasured, are permanently consigned to oblivion. Such has been the fate of late Sri Purna Chandra Rath, whose multi-dimensional genius could not fully blossom as Myeloid Leukemia (Blood Cancer) claimed him prematurely at the young age of 43. Within a brief span of about 12 years of creative life, he could accomplish a lot in cultural, social and political spheres by sheer will-force and organizational capability. Despite infrastructural deficiencies, financial constraints and geographical obstacles prevailing at his time, he over-stretched his energies to see his dreams come true. In the process, he untimely perished like a 'Candle burning at both ends'. (more :- pcrath )

In remembrance of this Eminent Historian, P.C. Rath Memorial Trust invites cartoons from both professional and amateur cartoonists of the world.

3. ABOUT THE CARTOON:

A) Only one unpublished Cartoon is to be sent as e-mail attachment. (Don't send previously awarded cartoon)

B) The Entry Form (in MSWord) must accompany the cartoon as attached mail.

C) Size: 21 x 30 cm (A-4)

D) Cartoon should be in JPG format (strictly 100dpi) (Maximum 1MB).

E) Every cartoon should accompany a certificate from the cartoonist with full signature (Scanned) about the originality and non-publication. The committee may ask the cartoonist to provide the signed original/sketch (Incase of digital art works) after their selection for exhibition/diploma.

6. THE PRIZES:

There would be 10 prizes (First, Second, Third, Special mention-2 and Honourable mention-5). All the prize winners would be given a Diploma Certificate and a CD album of selected cartoons.

7. THE RESULTS AND EXHIBITIONS:

A) The result of the contest will be declared in the last week of June 2010 and the selected cartoons will be exhibited in the

website: www.aswiniabani.com

B) The Diploma certificates and CD albums for all the winners will be sent by post after the function.

C) The exhibitions will be organized from June onwards in various places.

8. RIGHTS OF THE ORGANIZER:

A) Once sent the works belong to the organizing committee. It can be published, distributed or used for promotional purpose in future.

B) Cartoons should be downloadable and clear. Committee would not be responsible in situations like net-failure, undownloadable cartoon etc. It is therefore advised to keep the file small.

B) The entries can also be made available in other publications by the committee.

C) Plagiarism, if noted, the entry will be summarily rejected or even the diploma would be withdrawn, if awarded.

D) In case of a dispute the decision of the Committee would be final. The committee reserves all rights to cancel or modify any of the rules/conditions.

Participants are considered to have accepted all the conditions and are aware that their submissions may be reprinted and used without future monetary compensation.
