In The 4th Chinese Jiaxing International Cartoon Exhibition 2008, exhibition got successe
with the great support of international cartoonists, Host Units invited Mr.Vladimir
Kazanevsky from Ukraine, Mr.Mohammad Ali Khalaji from Iran and Mr.Taeyong Kang from Korea to China to attend the award ceremony in Jiaxing city.

Award: The Jury committee will choose 120 works for exhibition, there are 1 work provided
for The Best Theme Prize of 5000 RMB, 1 work provided for The Best Free choice Prize of 5000 RMB, 1 work provided for The Best Representation Prize of 5000 RMB, 1 work provided for The Best Idea Prizes of 5000 RMB, and 16 works provided for the excellent Prizes of each 2000 RMB, the total 20 winning works will be awarded with top grade trophy and Prizes.
Each author whose work selected for exhibition will get one copy of the catalogue of
exhibition and certificate, and 600 RMB prizes.
The selected works will be collectted in Puhua gallery, Jiaxing city.
The works which can not enter the exhibition will be returned to the authors after
exhibition.

Exhibition: The exhibition of The 5th Chinese Jiaxing International Cartoon Exhibition 2010
will be held in Jiaxing library in October, 2010 in Jiaxing city.

About rules:
Exhibition have two sections: A) Theme: Low carbon, Green and Environment; B) Free choice.
Each author may submit no more than 3 works for each section respectively.
Any technique of works will be acceptted, the size of work should not exceed 420 × 297mm,
the author's information including author's name, title, address, postcode, email, telephone
should be written on the back of works.
The deadline is August, 31, 2010.

Program: Host Units will invite the winners to attend the award ceremony and the cartoon
week in October, 2010 in Jiaxing city, Host Units will cover the flight and hotel's charge.
Also the Host Units will bring the winners to Shanghai to visit World Exposition 2010.

The Host Units have right to use the selected works for spreading on media.
Authors who submit works to exhibition means they accept all above rules.

"EUROPE-ASIA BRIDGE: ISTANBUL

Istanbul is the intersecting point of Europe and Asia, with a settlement history of three hundred thousand years, an urban history of three thousand years and a capital dating back to the 1600s. Istanbul has been a home to various civilizations and cultures thorughout history. Due to Istanbul's historical cosmopolitan and metropolitan structure it has attracted people with various religions, languages and races for centuries. It has now become one of the major touristic centers in the world.
Istanbul hosted the Roman and Byzantinian Empires until Fatih Sultan Mehmet captured Istanbul from the Byzatines in 1453, which marked the rise of the Ottoman period. Historical areas of Istanbul were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985 and Istanbul was chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2010.
The purpose of our competition is to study the European Capital of Culture: Istanbul from past to present through the art of caricature and project it to the world audience. The first cartoonist to be selected, will win a financial prize as well as a beautiful trip within Istanbul. The jury of this competition is formed by Turkish and Foreign citizens who are familiar with the city and its culture.

THE RULES OF COMPETITION:
1) You can only participate in this competition by submitting your work through the e-mail address provided below.

2) The participating work must have not previously received any awards or have been published in any competition. Otherwise, the jury committee has the right to withdraw the awards.
3) The designs are to be drawn in A3-Size to be delivered in 300 dpi and in JPEG format.
4) The incoming caricatures are first going to be eliminated by the pre-selector jury who will determine the 100 final caricatures. Final caricatures will be temporarily published on our "heute/bugün/today" section of our website (www.donquichotte.org). In this manner, we will be able to identify caricatures that are contradicting with the rules of this competition.
5) The closing date of the competition is August 15, 2010.
6) The jury, which consists from international well-known cartoonists, will evaluate the forwarded art-works from August 15th to 30th. Results of this evaluation and the award-winning art-works will be published on September 5, 2010.
7) The award ceremony will take place in İstanbul-Schneidertempel Art Gallery on September 15, 2010.
8) Participants of all ages can join in this competition with a maximum of 3 caricatures.

Propozicije za učesnike:
• Pravo učešća imaju autori svih uzrasta

O VI Salão de Humor de Limeira, idealizado e promovido pelo Jornal O PIU, abre as inscrições para todos os artistas do Brasil e do mundo, que desenham a mão livre, com inscrições abertas do dia 10 de maio a 10 de setembro de 2010.
Os participantes podem inscrever-se com quantos trabalhos quiserem, originais e inéditos, de sua própria autoria, no tamanho mínimo de papel A4 (21 x 29,7cm) e máximo de A3 (42 x 29,7cm). Estas medidas também valem para os digitais.
No verso de cada trabalho deve se identificar com a categoria do trabalho inscrito, nome completo, telefone, email. Para os digitais na legenda do arquivo.

INSCRIÇÃO

As inscrições são gratuitas.
Valerão as inscrições que estiverem em poder da comissão organizadora até 10 de setembro de 2010, valendo, para os inscritos pelo correio, a data de postagem. No caso dos trabalhos Digitais ou Interart, enviar para jornal_opiu@hotmail.com até mesma data.
A seleção das obras será feita por uma comissão julgadora indicada pelo Jornal O PIU.

REGULATION

The VI Hall of Humor in Limeira, designed and promoted by the newspaper O PIU, open registrations for all artists from Brasil and around the world, which draw a free hand, with entries open on 10 May to 10 September 2010. This year are also open registrations for DIGITAL or INTERART works, must be send to jornal_opiu@hotmail.com .

Participants can sign up with how many original works they like, those of his own making in the minimum size of A4 paper (21 x 29.7 cm) and up to A3 (42X 29.7 cm). These measures also apply to digital works.

The back of each work must be identified with the category of design registered, full name, phone, email, in case of digital internet in the caption of the file.

REGISTRATION

Entries are free.

2010 FIFA World Cup

South Africa will become the first African country to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup, starting from 11 June to 11 July 2010. South Africa made its final presentation to host the World Cup to FIFA's Executive Committee at the Trade Centre in Zurich on 14 May 2004. On 15 May 2004, FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, announced that South Africa would be the host of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Thirty-two countries have qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Six of these are from Africa, namely: South Africa, Ghana, Cote d扞voire, Nigeria, Cameroon and Algeria. The rest of the qualified countries are Japan, the Netherlands, Korea Democratic People抯 Republic, Australia, Korea Republic, United States of America, Brazil, England, Paraguay, Spain, Denmark, Chile, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Serbia, Switzerland, Argentina, Honduras, Slovakia, France, Portugal, Slovenia, Greece, Uruguay and New Zealand.
The World Cup will take place in eight of South Africa's nine provinces, using 10 stadiums in nine host cities. Five of the 10 stadiums are new and the rest have been upgraded for the event. Johannesburg, as South Africa's economic hub, is the only city with two venues for the world cup, namely Soccer City and Ellis Park. Other host cities are Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Polokwane, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein and Rustenburg.

The competition is open to all amateur and professional cartoonists.
2. MODALITY AND FORMATS
Work must be carried out in black and white or in colour. The work minimum must be of 3500 x 2480 pixels, with a minimum resolution of 300 pixels an inch.
3. PRESENTATION
Contestants must send in an e-mail supplying their names, surnames, address, date of birth and a contact telephone number. This e-mail must contain an attachment with the graphics work file in JPG format.
